American Heart Month

Every February, our nation dons a shade of red in recognition of American Heart Month. We dedicate this time to raising awareness about heart disease and promoting cardiovascular health. This isn’t just a fleeting gesture. It’s a vital reminder that being heart healthy matters for EVERYONE, regardless of age, gender, or background.

Why such urgency? Because heart disease remains the #1 cause of death in the United States, claiming approximately 695,000 lives each year. It’s not just a Sr Citizen’s concern. Athletes, – see Damar Hamlin – young adults, and children are increasingly facing heart health challenges due to factor’s like poor diet, lack of exercise, and family history.

But, there is Good News!

Fortunately, heart disease is largely preventable. By adopting healthy lifestyle choices and being proactive about one’s health, we can significantly reduce our risk and live longer, healthier lives, This American Heart Month, do your part by embracing the power of prevention.

Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your health. Understanding the risk factors for heart disease helps you to make informed choices and prioritize your well-being. Knowledge you should have includes:
